Week 4: Visualisation & Presentation
The final week of this project consisted of finalising our designs, making sure our six piece's fitted together with the other members in the groups designs. Keeping this in mind we had to come together and present a collaborative moodboard displaying our piece's in our chosen interior concept, ours being of course, an industrial inspired bedroom. Emma had chosen to create a wall piece whilst Susana chose to create cushions. We all worked together on photoshop to illustrate our bedroom which for me was a little bit of a struggle to begin with as computers really are not my forte yet. However, by the end of our session I was able to get into my stride with photoshop and I began to enjoy the endless possibilities this program offers.
As well as a collaborative mood board, we each had to present our own personal board.
My own mood board displaying my concept.
A board showing one of my designs repeated, suggesting a headboard. I had also created a few designs on photoshop, however I think its probably best for all of us if I kept these ones locked away in my album as they really are pretty shocking. I still need to work on the scale of the design in comparison to the size of the headboard. But with practise this will soon become more familiar.
A detail of the use of colours and materials used for my final pieces.
I just decided to put this image at the end as I absolutely love the freshness and the neutral tones used in this interior setting are right up my street. The headboard is absolutely stunning, being simple yet effective.
I have enjoyed this project as it has opened up yet again more ideas and possibilities which I had not yet considered. I could always do with more time to finalise more of my ideas, however like most things it is time to put this project to bed and take forward the skills and techniques I have learned to help me move onwards and upwards. If I were to have a little longer with this project I would have liked to have considered my use of material more. Realistically, a wire mesh and nails isn't really ideal or appropriate for what is meant to be a cosy and relaxing environment which one is meant to be able to lean against. I need to think of a way to make the nails blunt and the mesh soft and more comfortable.
